Radio 4 is broadcasting a reading of a new translation of Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince (trans. Constantine) this week 7th-11 January (you can find more details here including how to listen online for up to a week after the broadcast).
Listen to my podcast about Machiavelli's The Prince (this is a chapter of my book Philosophy: The Classics - 14 more podcast chapters are currently available here)
I also wrote a piece for The Independent in 2000 'Dead Philosophers' Society' in which I discussed the continuing relevance of Machiavelli.
Finally, Google Books have put most of a chapter I wrote about Machiavelli's Prince from the book Reading Political Philosophy: Machiavelli to Mill online here.
The best short introduction to Machiavelli by far is Quentin Skinner's Machiavelli: A Very Short Introduction. Quentin Skinner is also on an In Our Time programme about Machiavelli that you should be able to access here. I also recommend Isaiah Berlin's essay 'The Originality of Machiavelli' which is in his excellent collection The Proper Study of Mankind (for further details about both books see below).
